Forgiving Joy
Sometimes life throws us curve balls and they can be painful! Sometimes life just isn’t fair and we are deeply hurt by it! But through it all, we are required by God to walk in Joy!
No matter what situations you face, with God’s help, we can walk in forgiving joy. You might ask, “what is forgiving joy?” I’m so glad you asked….
It is a deep, freeing sense of peace that comes from truly forgiving someone. By the way, forgiving someone includes you; you must also forgive yourself! Joy will emerge when we release the bitterness, shame, and desire for revenge. Instead, we embrace the grace, love and healing that God has provided to us. It means we have laid down the anger and pain and allow ourselves to experience emotional and spiritual freedom.
Be clear, we don’t excuse hurtful actions, our experiences are real and true and some of us have been deeply hurt! However, that is not our final destination. We must make the decision not to let the things that hurt us, rule our lives.
This is a journey and this is a process. Be kind to yourself and embrace the journey. Be proud of yourself for deciding to take control of your life, your emotions. There will be difficult days, but you got this!
God is with you. You are courageous, you are strong, and you deserve great things. On the difficult days, be sure to remember that!
1 Peter 5:10 says “10 But may the God of all grace, who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you.
My friend, take it from me, God WILL settle you!
